M-Dilemma

Think of one of the most difficult tasks that you have done till now. What would u compare that difficult task to? Climbing mountain Everest? Or solving a math problem? Or those who are from my school would probably compare it to organizing a reunion and managing to get everyone. Well I had same views some days ago. Now I have another benchmark in my list. I would say xyz job was as difficult as choosing which cell to buy. Don’t smile, I am serious. It is easier to find a boyfriend or even a husband (a bit more difficult than BF because you have to convince him to stay with you for lifetime).

Once upon a time (a month back) when someone called on my old cell (Nokia 3315) which is 3 years old, I realized that the battery of my mobile is getting weaker. After talking for just 15 minutes my charge status showed only 2 sticks (I don’t mind using jargon but it would be boring). So it was then I decided to buy a new handset. First I though I would go for a simple piece with just Bluetooth, Infrared and memory. But very soon I realized that I would get a camera with any and every Bluetooth mobile and there was no use of GPRS without camera. This was when the troubles started. There are scores of mobile in the market with different resolutions. If you extend your budget a bit you can always get a better piece. If you do manage to convince yourself about the resolution of the camera the next hurdle is the memory card. Again the same story is repeated, if you extend your budget a bit you can get greater memory capacity and what’s more it maybe upgradeable too. I am not even going to mention the other features that tempt you and you feel like just adding 2 to the thousand’s place in the cheque.

I don’t know how much consideration a guy would give to the looks of the handset but a girl definitely does. I am not embarrassed to admit that I am one of those. One reason I cancelled all Nokia pieces from my list was because they were bulky (eg. 6600 etc.). I really would not like a handset which resembles a cordless more than a mobile. I mean mobile should be sleek and smart (I cannot be so, but atleast I can buy such a cell). I, like many others, was a Nokia loyal till yesterday and so I didn’t want to buy any other brand’s handset. In the next round the selected handsets are subjected to the performance problems that people experience after using a piece for sometime. For e.g. it’s said that Nokia 3230 hangs a lot. Tired? I don’t blame you. But after that min-PHD I did on mobiles I finally emerged victorious with one handset. Yes the winner is Sony Ericsson k700i. It does have some disadvantages like the memory is not upgradeable but how much can you expect in 9k? So now I and my cell will live happily ever after (i.e. for 1 to 2 years).
